DUAL OCCUPANCY

AUSTRALIA ROAD, BARDEN RIDGE

Barden Ridge is well known for its natural rock formations, and this site in Australia Road is a prime example. Being a vacant block, the undisturbed natural topography is much more raw than we typically have to work with. The built form reflects exactly this.

The angular facade mimics the rough texture of the exposed rockfaces by integrating the same raw off-form concrete material with a man-made approach. The basement entry being lined with stone, makes it appear as if you are driving into a cave, with a heavy mass building above.
